ICHS Baseball Team Reads to ICES Students

ICES has been celebrating “Read Across America” this week. Today is Read Across America Day (Dr. Seuss’ birthday). Yesterday several ICHS baseball players read to all of the 3rd grade and Pre-K classrooms as well as one first grade classroom. All of the elementary students were engaged and seemed to really enjoy their time with the “big kids.” The players explained the importance of reading over the course of their school careers. There were some question and answer sessions after they read to the elementary students and most importantly, there was a lot of smiles out of the high school and elementary school kids. The Irwin County School System is very proud of the players for what they do on and off the field. We look forward to seeing where reading takes those elementary students in the coming years. Great job, players!
