This week, our Pre-K Sharks explored learning through Small Groups, Large Group Literacy, and Centers.
In our Creative Curriculum Ball Unit, we asked: “Do all balls roll?” Students made predictions and tested them on a ramp. We discovered that most balls did roll — although a tiny cheeseball snack did not! Later in the week, each student had the chance to roll a ball down the ramp to test it for themselves.
During literacy, we compared The Three Little Pigs by Bonnie Dobkin and The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka. Together, we created a Venn Diagram to see what was the same and what was different between the stories.
In small groups, students practiced one-to-one correspondence in counting, retold familiar stories, and strengthened fine motor skills with playdough and manipulatives.
At center time, students got creative with blocks — building their own domino runs in straight lines, circles, and more to see if their creation would fall over.
In Pre-K, exploration is key — and our Sharks are diving into learning every day!
