Decodable Book Information Letter

Dear Parents and guardians of Kindergarten, first, second, and third grade students,

I.C.E.S. is excited to share our new decodable book videos, which go hand-in-hand with the copies your child will be bringing home to practice reading. You will also receive a letter home with the links to these books.

Decodable books are specially written by reading experts to help children connect letters and sounds as they learn to read. They're meant to be short-term "practice books" that build the skills needed to move on to more complex texts.

Each week, we'll update the videos so you can see examples of how to read these books together at home. Reading decodables is just one piece of the literacy puzzle-listening to stories, talking about books, and exploring new words all help strengthen your child's growing reading brain.

Thank you for partnering with us to help every child become a confident reader. Together, we'll make sure #ICESReads!

Your letters home will have QR code links to the playlists for the books, but we've included the links below as well. More books will be added weekly.
