Pre-K students in Mr. Steven and Ms. Caiti’s Shark Class celebrated the 100th Day of School with a variety of engaging, number-focused activities. Students began the day by dressing up as their “100th Day” selves and listening to 100th Day books, making connections between the stories and real-life experiences.

Throughout the day, students rotated through small-group activities centered on the number 100. These included counting to 100 using ten-frame pop-it toys, creating 100-dot paintings with dot markers, practicing writing the first letter of their name 100 times, and designing 100th Day hats to wear during the celebration.

During large group literacy, students participated in show-and-tell by sharing items and posters representing collections of 100. Examples included marshmallows, coins, pom-poms, goldfish, and even a photo of 100 toy cars from home.

Students also worked together to make a 100th Day trail mix by following directions, estimating quantities, and counting by 1s, 10s, and 20s. The trail mix was enjoyed as a snack. To conclude the day, students read a 100th Day poem and counted the letters in the rhyme, discovering it contained exactly 100 letters. The Sharks had a wonderful time celebrating, learning, and having fun together.
