With significant rainfall in our area over the past few days, we encourage everyone to use caution on wet roads, and allow extra travel time.

Please be patient and understand that bus routes may experience delays tomorrow and days ahead due to road conditions.

9/25 was DOLLY DAY in Mrs. Kendrick’s Kindergarten class at I.C.E.S.! 💕🎶

The students read Dolly books about her childhood, life, dreams, and generosity; learned about her Coat of Many Colors; made our own cowboy & cowgirl hats; listened to Dolly’s children’s music; and, of course, enjoyed Dolly’s favorites—potato chips & sweet tea! 🥔🥤

Our little cowboys and cowgirls had a day full of learning, laughter, music, and a whole lot of Dolly sparkle! ✨💗

One of the "clubs" that students can join by earning A.R. points is the "A.R. Influencers," and we have our very first two students who made this club for the school year. Congratulations to Payzli Stephenson and Willow Farmer!

Students in grades 1-5 will have a chance to earn new prizes each month, and we look forward to seeing our students excel as readers and leaders this year. Thank you to our teachers, staff, parents, and guardians for supporting our students in their reading at school and home.

Today Mr. Don came to Irwin County Elementary to open the school's yearly cookie dough fundraiser. This fundraiser, which allows students to sell a variety of items in addition to cookie dough, helps raise funds for school initiatives and new playground equipment.

Your student will bring home a packet today with a parent letter, catalog, order form, and directions for how you and your friends and relatives can shop and support the school. Items will arrive at I.C.E.S. after fall break, or they can also be delivered through the mail. Your student has the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, such as time on the gaming trailer, Amazon gift cards, and extra cookie dough.

At the Irwin County Homecoming Parade on Friday, I.C.E.S. celebrated our Employees of the Year. Mrs. Heather Ross is our certified employee of the year, and she went on to be selected as the 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year for the Irwin County School System!

Mrs. Lynn Turner, classified employee of the year, was unable to be present for the parade, so I.C.E.S. made sure she was still represented with a life-sized cutout on our float. Mrs. Rontee Barnes, I.C.E.S. Principal, rode and displayed Mrs. Turner's image.

We are so proud of both of our employees of the year, and all of the hard work they reflect at I.C.E.S.!
